New American Initiative :

Citizenship Education

While many immigrants and refugees would like to become American citizens and participate fully in the American way of life, they are often met with obstacles to overcome due to their language proficiency. MWRC helps individuals with low English proficiency and other challenges, while assisting with the attaining of U.S. Citizenship. The Citizenship program stresses that becoming U.S. citizens is only the first step in the process and includes becoming informed voters and active community members. The Citizenship program is comprised of two components:

Citizenship Education

MWRC helps students prepare for their Immigration and Naturalization Service Citizenship exams by providing classroom instruction and individual tutoring in United States history and Civics.

Citizenship Case Assistance

MWRC offers individual case assistance to clients and helps individuals in their completion of citizenship applications.
