Our goal is to provide low-income immigrant women the educational services they need to flourish in an English-speaking environment. To do this, we offer the following activities:
- ESL for adults
- Communication Building Activities (CBA)
- Computer Classes
- Children Drop-in Center
MWRC offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to low-income adult immigrants living on Chicago’s North Side. Our four day English classes are for Beginning and Intermediate-level students. We also offer Computer classes at the Basic and Intermediate level; this includes accessing the internet, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Communication Building Activities (CBA)
Instructors meet in small groups with students for weekly two-hour lessons at MWRC. The program is geared toward daily-related English language communication.
Youth Empowerment Services (YES)
MWRC Youth Program offers a variety of academic, social, and educational programs and is comprised of two components with over 100 active participants. The Youth Program operates Monday to Thursday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and serves youth ages 6-18 years old.
