Message from the Executive Director

I am proud to be part of the Muslim Women Resource Center (MWRC), the only Muslim Women Organization in the state of Illinois. Since its foundation in 2001, our goal, at MWRC has been to facilitate between the needs and expectations of the Immigrant & Refugee Muslim Women and the enormous resources available to them by both Governmental and Non-Governmental Foundations, and our Donors. Although our organization was originally designed to serve Muslim women and their families, we are bound by our conviction to serve all immigrants and refugees from all walks of life, regardless of gender, faith, race, ethnicity, or age. We strive to help integrate the Muslim Women Immigrant population into mainstream American society by providing them with the appropriate skill-sets to enter and lead productive lives in their new home, the United States of America.

We also strongly believe in having an informed community. Feel free to register for cross-cultural training sessions to better understand cultural differences and how to turn such into strengths, as citizens of the United States of America. If you wish to be part of our efforts, please feel free to contact us and become actively involved.

Sima Quraishi,
Executive Director, Muslim Women Resource Center
